If you can’t think – join the link!
Set up in 1999, The Kintyre Link Club is a mental health club run by members for member’s with our main aim, being to promote the welfare of those who suffer or have suffered from mental ill health. Some of our members also have other health issues which include epilepsy, learning difficulties, stroke, heart and lung problems, cancer, blindness, memory problems, dementia and drink and drug dependency.
Essentially we offer mutual support to each other and try to provide a supportive environment where we can socialise, relax and learn without the fear of stigmatisation.
The Link Club is a safe place to come and meet other people on an equal basis, learn and share new skills, become more active, gain work experience, be involved in interesting and stimulating activities within the club and the local community and build up confidence, self-esteem and independence.
OPENING TIMES
The club is open weekdays from 9am until 5.30pm.
A drop in service is available for non-members every other Wednesday from 11am till 1pm or our coordinator can arrange a one to one visit on request.
Tracy Chambers, coordinator, would like to thank the Community Centre Council for their financial support, the local tradesmen for their hard work and the club members for their help and patience during the upheaval.
The room is now fully functional and ready to welcome the members back!
